The Alpine Loop is a challenging and beautiful road cycling route that covers around 95 miles starting in Harrisonburg, VA out into West Virginia and back around to VA with almost 11,000 feet of climbing! The loop is mainly paved road with around 7 miles on dirt roads, but don't worry your road bike can travel these dirt roads no problem, a "cross" bike is not necessary.
